Research and Study Currently Supported by ISI
In accord with its mission to create knowledge and enhance understanding of the insurance industry’s economic and social impacts in a free market economy, ISI fosters and conducts research principally in the following areas:
- Life settlements and alternatives, including taxation, tax revenue, life expectancy and economic ramifications.
- Insuring seniors – issues, risks, dynamics, needs.
- Baby Boomers – insurance needs and related retirement issues.
- Dynamics of mortality and life expectancy – changing patterns after age 65.
- Economic value of insurable interests – utilizing one’s life asset value; leveraging personal life asset value; selling personal insurable interests.
Other areas of study may be considered as part of the ISI grant process.
