Insurance Studies Institute (ISI) is very pleased to publish the 9th edition of the Life Insurance Settlement Series: “Overview of the Life Insurance Secondary Market from an Investment Perspective.”
By analyzing salient media articles published over the last 12 months, ISI has attempted to identify trends affecting the Life Insurance Secondary Market (“LISM”). Over 65 investor-related articles and papers were studied, and five main themes were recognized and fleshed out:
- General Developments in the LISM
- The Landscape of the Financial Markets
- Investments and Available Capital in the LISM
- Securitization of Life Insurance Settlements
- Best Practices and Standards
Conclusion? While the economic recession and other factors have resulted in recent pull-back of investor capital, the LISM “asset class” remains vibrant and appears to be maturing, gaining strength, and moving in pioneering directions.
